Every Fifteen Minutes program
On March 19 and 20, 2009 Scripps Ranch High School students, the administration, the CHP, the County of San Diego, Sharp Hospital and others presented the Every Fifteen Minutes program to over 2,000 junior and senior students. This powerful and moving presentation showed the devastating effects of driving under the influence of alcohol or other drugs to an audience of young and inexperienced drivers. This program involved many hours of volunteer work to create the “effect” of a DUI arrest, serious injury and death, without a real life tragedy. It included tombstones, obituaries, a moving memorial service and removing students from class every fifteen minutes to simulate how often alcohol related deaths occur.
In an effort to increase awareness of the dangers of driving under the influence of alcohol to these college bound seniors in our community, the DUDEK LAW FIRM APC is sponsoring and funding a scholarship essay contest. If you would like to contribute to this effort (by reading/judging essays or contributing to the scholarships) please contact Frederick M. Dudek at 858 530-4800 ext. 302 or fdudek@dudeklawfirm.com. Attorneys, judges and other legal professionals with knowledge of alcohol related tragedies are especially encouraged to participate.
