Bicycle Lawyer Explains: What is the Blind Stokers Club?
Our personal injury law firm is a proud supporter of The Blind Stokers Club. It is an organization that helps share the joys of cycling with those whose blindness prevents them from piloting their own bicycles. The Blind Stokers Club encourages setting and attaining goals, mentoring, teamwork and fundraising, as well as the joy and freedom of bicycling and the adventure of travel with a group.
Bicycle accident attorney Fred Dudek is one of many sighted cyclists who act as Captains, riding a tandem bicycle along with a blind “Stoker.” The Club hosts an annual fundraiser called “Cycling For Sight,” a 200 mile cycling event for which club members, blind and sighted alike, train throughout the year.
Fred also participates in many other charitable cycling events. This includes completing the cycling leg of the San Diego Challenged Athlete Foundation Triathlon. The Challenged Athlete Foundation (CAF) is an inspiring organization that works with those who have lost limbs, including military veterans.
