One San Diego resident is now facing a second-degree murder charge for his role in a deadly 2012 accident. On the morning of January 9, 2012, a drunk driver slammed head-on into two motorists, killing one and seriously injuring two others. During an attempt to return to his home in San Diego after a night of drinking at the Sutra nightclub in Costa Mesa, the driver lost control of his vehicle and ended up on the wrong side of the road. Motorcyclist Killed by Distracted Driver

Two people were seriously injured, one fatally, after a motorcycle broadsided a Ford Taurus near Vista. According to reports, the Yamaha R1 was traveling south on East Vista Way when a sedan tried to merge left from Hutchison Street. The driver turned directly into the path of the motorcycle, giving the rider no time to avoid the collision. The 49-year-old motorcyclist slammed into the side of the car and died in the crash. The Taurus driver was a 34-year-old man from Oceanside. He was hospitalized for serious leg injuries. The victim’s landlady and her 8-year-old son came upon the crash moments after it happened and gave details to the police. Joshua Bonnici Rides with Blind Cyclist in CAF Triathlon

On October 19, attorney Bonnici Law Group participated in the Challenged Athlete Foundation Triathlon for disabled athletes. During the cycling leg of the event, Bonnici rode tandem with a blind friend, helping him participate in the competition even though he could not steer the bike himself. Challenged Athlete Foundation CAF The Challenged Athlete Foundation (CAF) sponsors competitions for disabled athletes, many of whom are missing limbs. The organization helps veterans and accident victims accomplish physical goals while fundraising for important causes. During this year’s CAF Triathlon, Joshua Bonnici helped a blind friend finish the cycling portion by riding with him on a tandem bike. Bonnici did the steering, but it took both riders to cross the finish line.
