Woman Killed in Linda Vista Hit-and-Run Accident

A 40-year-old woman was the victim of a hit-and-run accident in Linda Vista on August 29 that left her with serious injuries, according to CBS 8 in San Diego. The woman had to be taken to a local trauma center by paramedics for further treatment. Her injuries are serious but not life threatening, according to the police.

The accident occurred around 8 p.m. on the 7200 block of Linda Vista Road. The woman was walking along the east sidewalk of the road when she was struck.

“She was hit by a light-colored pickup truck that went up on the sidewalk after making a U-turn in the roadway,” said San Diego police Sgt. Leticia Taylor in a statement.

After it hit her, the pickup sped away from the scene. Police were still searching for the pickup and its driver at the time of this report.

Back in March, CBS 8 reported that another pedestrian was the victim of a Linda Vista hit-and-run. That accident occurred at about 9:45 p.m. on March 1 on the Genesee Avenue on-ramp to southbound State Route 163. In that case, the 73-year-old victim, Tekie Ghebresghi, died after he was struck.

“The driver who struck Ghebresghi sped away and has yet to be identified,” California Highway Patrol (CHP) officials said. “However, physical evidence from the suspect vehicle was found at the scene and CHP officials continue to investigate.”

Those responsible should not go unpunished for what they have done. A woman is seriously injured, and a man lost his life—neither one through any fault of his or her own. These victims and their families deserve to see those at fault held accountable and to receive the compensation they need to move on with their lives. The right injury attorney can help victims like these and their families fight for their rights and see that justice is done.
