Senator Frank Lautenberg (D-NJ) has proposed the Safe Highways and Infrastructure Preservation Act of 2013—legislation that will impose federal weight limits on commercial trucks to state highway systems. A limousine was traveling across a bridge in San Francisco on May 5 when it unexpectedly caught on fire, killing five passengers and injuring four others, according to the Chicago Tribune.
