Cars Crash Into Homes In Unrelated San Diego Car Accidents

According to Local 10 and NBC Local San Diego, in two separate and unrelated incidents, cars crashed into San Diego homes. First, around 4 p.m. on Tuesday, December 17, a 20-year-old motorist was driving along Eagle Valley Drive in Chula Vista. When the driver reached the 2400 block, he lost control of his car and swerved into a two-story home. The impact dented the driver’s doors such that the driver was trapped inside the automobile. Chula Vista Fire Department arrived on the scene soon after the accident and freed the driver. Thankfully, no one was present in the house at the time of the accident, but the crash still destroyed a wall and the room behind it. 19-Year-Old Pleads Not Guilty To Vehicular Manslaughter In Ramona Car Accident

According to The San Diego Union-Tribune, a preliminary hearing was scheduled to decide the fate of a 19-year-old Lakeside resident accused of the vehicular manslaughter of a 74-year-old man on December 10 at the El Cajon courthouse. The young man was driving south on San Vicente Road near Warnock Drive when, according to local authorities, he took his eyes off the road for a minimum of 10 seconds to recover items fallen from his passenger seat. During this 10-second period of distraction, his 2007 Ford Ranger swerved into northbound oncoming traffic going roughly 50 mph. The 19-year-old then collided with a northbound 2000 Ford Ranger driven by the 74-year-old man. The elderly driver died upon impact of blunt force injuries and the young driver was unscathed. New Footage From North County Bus Accident Reveals Driver Negligence

Recently released images and footage from the August 4 collision between three cyclists and a North County Transit bus reveal clear absentminded negligence on the part of the bus driver. Initially, it was reported that the bus driver saw the cyclists on the road ahead, swerved into oncoming traffic to avoid them, then swerved again to avoid oncoming traffic and hit the cyclists with the side of the bus. Each North County Transit bus is equipped with six cameras, one of which records the driver and the road ahead from the driver’s perspective. One of the victim’s attorneys reassessed the accident and found a different story. “The bus impacted the rear end of all the bicycles it was a frontal impact…This was a clear sunny day on a straight road with clear visibility,” the attorney said.
