High-Speed Fatal Car Accident Shakes San Diego Neighborhood

Residents in one San Diego neighborhood are growing concerned with the safety of motorists, cyclists and pedestrians following a fatal accident in May at the intersection of Camino Del Norte and 4S Ranch Parkway. Driver Danny Wyrick, 59, and a female passenger clipped the back end of an SUV making a left-turn while Wyrick’s vehicle was allegedly traveling at very high speed and ran through a red light. Wyrick was pronounced dead at the scene and the passenger was air lifted to a hospital with serious injuries.

“This car just appeared as if it was a missile,” said eyewitness Sam Kambo. “Everybody’s always in a rush to go and sometimes people do make mistakes, and this is not the first accident. Every day I go to work, I see that there is a fender bender, there’s a small accident.”

Residents in the neighborhood are growing increasingly concerned about speeding motorists on their streets.

“The speed limit is 50 [mph] but sometimes we see people just blowing through the lights,” said resident Rachel Acosta. “I won’t be very popular with my neighbors.”

Residents in the neighborhood should be happy with Acosta bringing this problem to light. Excessive speed reduces the margin for error for all drivers. There is more information on car accidents available on our site. Please contact our firm today for a free consultation.
