Los Angeles Bus Accident Injures 12

A three-vehicle accident near Culver City in Los Angeles reportedly sent a dozen people to the hospital on August 8, according to the Los Angeles City Fire Department. Eleven of the injured were passengers on a Metro bus involved in the collision, the other the driver of a Dodge Durango.

According to reports, the accident occurred when the Durango crossed the centerline on Watseka Avenue and crashed into a white sedan and eventually the side of the bus.

The driver of the SUV suffered the most severe injuries and was rushed to the hospital. The collision remains under the investigation of the Los Angeles Police Department and the Los Angeles Count Sherriff’s Department.

According to reports from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, in 2009 there were 221 bus accident fatalities in the United States.
