San Diego Man Hospitalized Following Boating Accident

According to sources, a San Diego man has been hospitalized following a boating accident on September 18. The boat reportedly turned over in Mission Bay, near San Diego in Southern California.

NBC News reported that the accident occurred early morning during a qualifying race event. The man suffered a concussion and was taken to Scripps Memorial Hospital.

“The driver experienced what we called a ‘blow over’ in boating terms,” said San Diego Bayfair spokesman Greg Mansfield.

According to witnesses, the engine appeared to come apart from the boat.

“The boat completely disintegrated as it was basically designed to do with that capsule,” said witness Mike Hancock. “That’s probably the first time I’ve seen a capsule go into the water open, which is just terrible.”
