San Diego Police Officer Facing DUI and Hit-and-Run Charges

San Diego police officer David Hall, 41, has been charged with drunken driving causing injury and felony hit and run following a car accident that occurred on Feb. 22, according to SignOnSanDiego.com.  The car accident happened in the early evening in Sera Mesa on Murray Ridge Road.

Hall, who is a motorcycle officer, is accused of causing the car accident that left one woman injured before fleeing the scene.  His blood-alcohol level was greater than 0.15.

At an arraignment on May 2, Superior Court Judge David Szumowski ordered Hall to attend Alcoholics Anonymous meetings as his case proceeds.  Deputy District Attorney Matt Williams did not provide details to reporters regarding the car accident, including the identity of the victim.

Hall’s attorney, Cole Casey, describes Hall as a veteran officer with a clean record.
