      Two Innocent People Killed After Being Hit By Stolen Car

      Two people were killed in a tragic car accident on August 1, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. A Nissan Maxima was struck by another vehicle, which happened to be stolen and occupied by an unlicensed driver. The Nissan burst into flames and split in half according to investigators, killing both the driver and the passenger. The accident occurred near the intersection of Holt Avenue and Garey Avenue, approximately 30 miles east of downtown Los Angeles. The car that struck the Nissan was described by investigators as a 2008 Infinity G37S that was reported as stolen the night before. The driver of the Nissan was identified as 26-year-old Lorraine Martinez, who was treated for minor injuries and then arrested and booked for investigation of auto theft, according to Pomona police Corporal Bert Sanchez.       Man Killed in Single Vehicle Accident

      According to 760 KFMB Talk Radio in San Diego, a car accident on July 24 claimed the life of a man.  The investigation is underway, but evidence may be difficult to obtain due to the fire that ensued following the crash. The driver was the only occupant of a Kia Rio that crashed into a tree off Route 94 near Euclid Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.  The accident happened between 11:30 p.m. and midnight on the Sunday night.  The car went off the side of the road and crashed into a tree before becoming entirely engulfed in flames, according to the accident report.  The victim did not have a chance to escape the vehicle due to damage to the driver’s door according to police, and burned to death while trapped in the car. The name of the victim has not been released and officials have not commented on…

      Police Officer Killed Following Car Accident

      According to KTLA News in Los Angeles, a police officer was killed on July 10 after his patrol car collided with another police patrol car as they were responding to a robbery report. Ryan Stringer, 26, was the officer who lost his life in the tragic car accident.  Stringer survived serious injuries following a motorcycle accident last year as well. The two patrol cars collided near the intersection of N. Garfield Avenue and E. Main Street at approximately 2:30 a.m.  According to the police report, one of the cars ran a red light just before the collision.  A witness described Stringer as “bleeding pretty profusely” following the accident.  The name of the other officer has not been released, but he is listed in stable condition at Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena. It was not clear if Stringer was wearing a seat belt, said Alhambra Police Chief Mark Yokoyama.  The investigation…
