Man Killed in Single Vehicle Accident

According to 760 KFMB Talk Radio in San Diego, a car accident on July 24 claimed the life of a man.  The investigation is underway, but evidence may be difficult to obtain due to the fire that ensued following the crash.

The driver was the only occupant of a Kia Rio that crashed into a tree off Route 94 near Euclid Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.  The accident happened between 11:30 p.m. and midnight on the Sunday night.  The car went off the side of the road and crashed into a tree before becoming entirely engulfed in flames, according to the accident report.  The victim did not have a chance to escape the vehicle due to damage to the driver’s door according to police, and burned to death while trapped in the car.

The name of the victim has not been released and officials have not commented on a possible cause of the accident.
