      Will the Family of Young Victim Killed in Hit and Run Accident Find Justice?

      Last February, two young girls were walking together down the sidewalk. They stopped at an intersection, and pressed the pedestrian button so they could walk across the street. While they waited for the light to change, something terrible happened. A Toyota Corolla drove up onto the sidewalk and struck both the girls, and then drove away. A Young Victim’s Testimony One of the victims, at only 12 years old, took the stand recently to tell a judge about her experience. She said that she and her friend, who was just 10, were on their way to a nearby McDonald’s when the hit and run accident occurred. She says she only remembers bits and pieces of the car accident, including the lights of ambulance, and the family that found her lying on the sidewalk.       Police Were Surprised at What DIDN’T Cause This Pedestrian Accident

      A woman was recently hospitalized with severe injuries after being struck by a car. The pedestrian accident occurred around 10 p.m. in a poorly lit area near Plaza Bonita Mall in National City. When it comes to pedestrian accidents, many would think that drugs, alcohol or speeding would be involved. However, perhaps somewhat of a surprise is that police suspect none of those were factors. Investigators attribute the accident primarily to “wrong place, wrong time.” The stretch of road where the woman was hit comes at the end of a curve with dim lighting and a speed increase from 35 mph to 45 mph. The driver remained at the scene, and was reportedly very cooperative with police. He was not injured, and as far as we know, has not been charged with any crime.       School Principal Killed in Bus Accident Called a Hero

      An elementary school principal was recently killed in a bus accident, but is being called a hero. When an approaching school bus jumped the curb and accelerated, the victim managed to push several young students to safety before she was struck and killed. Two students were also hit by the bus, and were transported to the hospital in serious, but not life-threatening, condition. Luckily, none of the 25 young passengers on the bus or the driver suffered injuries. Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the tragic bus accident, but have so far not reported any explanation. They did say that the bus involved only recently passed an inspection, less than a month prior to the accident.
