34,000 Burley Bicycle Trailers Recalled

Burley Design has issued a voluntary recall on over 34,000 of its bicycle child trailers that were sold in the U.S. and Canada. The recall cites a manufacture defect with the tow bar receiver as the reason. So far, there have been 35 reports from consumers saying that the tow bar receiver had come apart from the trailer. “Burley has received two reports of broken tow bar receivers that led to the trailer detaching and rolling over, resulting in minor abrasions. No other injuries have been reported,” according to a statement on the Burley Design official website. There is a Massive Bicycle Recall Happening Now Involving 13 Manufacturers

A massive bicycle recall is underway involving no less than 13 different manufacturers. The recall is in response to concerns over the safety of front disc brakes and quick release levers. Customers who have complained that open quick release levers on the front wheel have made contact with the front disc brake, which can cause the front wheel to suddenly lock up in the middle of riding. Three accidents have been attributed to this manufacture defect as of now. Manufacturers say that around 1.3 million bicycles are affected by this defect, including about 245,000 sold in Canada and another 9,000 sold in Mexico. This recall includes bicycles sold between 1998 and 2015. Any bikes with a front disc brake and a black or silver front quick release lever with less…

New Vehicle Recalls Issued for Defective Airbags

Toyota Motor Corp and Nissan Motor Corp have expanded recalls to include another 637,000 vehicles in the U.S. The auto manufacturers are responding to issues with Takata-produced airbags, which have been part of a separate but much larger recall. Takata had previously faced recalls for a defect that caused some of its airbags to deploy with too much force during car accidents, injuring or killing passengers. Investigators with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) suspect that humid weather conditions might be responsible for the new defect, which can cause the airbag to deploy incorrectly and rupture during a car accident. Since the start of both recalls, Takata airbags have been linked to 105 injuries and 6 deaths. Takata now faces multiple wrongful death lawsuits from individuals and family members who have lost loved ones. >How Can Car Owners Check for Recall Information? In some cases, the auto or parts…
