1620 5th AvenueA fatal car-motorcycle accident closed down northbound Highway 1 in Monterey County in California on October 16, according to the San Jose Mercury News. Officials described the collision as high speed and very destructive.
A man fled from an officer at high speeds in a Geo Prism. The officer attempted to stop the driver for driving recklessly, but the driver collided with a motorcycle. The driver of both the Prism and the motorcycle died on the scene. The pursuing officer, Sarah Jackson, said that she saw the car hit the motorcycle at a high speed.
The motorcyclist was a woman in her late 30’s. Highway 1 was shut down for several hours.
