3 Killed, 4 Injured In California Boat Accident

Three women died and four other people injured in a tragic boating accident in California in October, according to Fox News.  The accident occurred at Bonelli Regional Park in San Dimas, about 30 miles east of Los Angeles.

The three women crashed into another boat while they rode a wave runner, according to police reports.  The women, ages 25, 35 and 60, were related to one another.  Three men and another woman in the boat suffered critical injuries and were taken to Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center.

“It was a pretty severe accident in the middle of the water,” said Matt Levesque of the Los Angeles County Fire Department.  The accident is under investigation.

“At this point, there’s nothing to indicate there was alcohol, but that could change later,” said Los Angeles County Chief Lifeguard Hugo Maldonado.

While boats and jetskis are often recreational vehicles, it’s important to remember that they can still be deadly. How can we help the public understand the safety hazards and take proper precautions?
