San Diego Wrongful Death Lawyer Reports Fatal Bus Accident

A bus driver died in an accident after his bus was struck by a car on December 13, according to NBC News in San Diego. The bus accident occurred on Interstate 805 in San Diego near El Cajon Boulevard. The school bus driver, John Firedsas Joaquin Jr., 32, was on the side of the road attempting to repair his broken down bus. A 2005 Nissan Altima struck the rear of the bus after losing control and veering off the road. Joaquin was working in front of the bus and became stuck in the engine compartment following the collision. He was trapped for more than 30 minutes before rescuers were able to free him. The driver of the sedan, identified as a 41-year-old female, was taken to the hospital and listed in serious condition. San Diego Wrongful Death Attorney Looks at Tragic Christmas Eve Car Accident

A 20-year-old woman died in a car accident on the evening of December 24, according to UT-San Diego. Tina Kohr was riding with three other people in a Toyota Camry on Interstate 15 when the driver lost control and ran off the highway and flipped over. The driver, identified as a 16-year-old female, told California Highway Patrol Officers she was driving 65 mph when she ran off the road. Her car veered left on a transition road and struck a guardrail, causing the car to flip several times. Kohr was ejected from the vehicle and died from blunt force trauma to her head.  Another sedan struck the Camry after it came to a rest. The driver and another passenger, a 26-year-old male, were transported to Sharp Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. San Diego Wrongful Death Lawyer Reflects on Second Recent Amtrak Accident

A truck driver died in an accident involving an Amtrak Surliner passenger train on December 19, according to UT-San Diego. Emergency responders received calls reporting the accident in Cardiff, that a train had collided with a tow truck on the tracks. According to witnesses the crossing guards were closed around the truck at the time of the collision. The tow truck driver had stopped to assist a stranded motorist that was just west of the tracks, according to police reports. The tow truck was completely demolished upon impact and the driver was thrown from the wreckage. He was pronounced dead on the scene. The train was carrying 125 passengers, some of which sustained minor injuries. Twenty people were injured in another truck accident involving an Amtrak train in Hanford in October.
