The mother of a 23-year-old woman killed in a car accident in Escondido on June 18, 2012 has filed a wrongful death claim against San Diego County. Kara Laxson lost her daughter when a car she was riding in with a friend ran off the road and into a swimming pool in the back yard of a private residence. Laxson claims the county was aware of the hazards of the road and the pool and failed to correct it or even warn drivers. “It’s a dangerous road, and with my daughter losing her life on it, I don’t want any other family to have to deal with that again,” said Laxson.
