California Man Killed in Motorcycle Accident

According to SignOnSanDiego.com, a man was killed in a motorcycle accident near Campo on July 22. The victim was a 43-year-old man riding a 2005 Suzuki, according to the California Highway Patrol, when he drifted off the road on State Route 94. The driver was heading west and hit a power pole off the side of the road. The victim—whose name was not released—was wearing a Department of Transportation-approved motorcycle helmet. According to California Highway Patrol Officer Brian Pennings, there were no witnesses to the accident and they are not sure how fast he may have been traveling. Even though the victim was wearing a motorcycle helmet that was approved by the DOT—and to be fair they haven’t determined the cause of this accident—it serves as a cautionary tale for all riders. Controlling you speed and driving defensively can go a long way in preventing this type of accident.
