According to GantDaily.com, a Pacifica, California pregnant woman was killed by her own pit bull on August 11.  The victim was identified as 32-year-old Darla Napora, owner of two pit bulls.  Her husband discovered her dead body, with bite marks from the dog attack covering her face, arms and neck. Police reports indicated that the pit bull had blood in its mouth and was standing above the victim.  The husband moved the dog to the fenced-in backyard and called police.  When the police arrived, the dog escaped from the yard and charged the officers who were forced to shoot and kill the dog. The family owned a second pit bull which was taken by the Peninsula Humane Society as a precaution, although authorities do not believe that it was involved in the attack.
