A Chula Vista Woman Died of Heart Failure During a Dog Attack

Police arrived on the scene of a disturbance call in Chula Vista to find an 83-year-old woman dead in her back yard after an apparent dog attack. The woman, who was reportedly battling cancer, sustained multiple puncture wounds from dog bites on her hands and feet. When authorities got there, the two dogs had moved from the backyard into the house and were still fighting. The woman’s poodle mix was severely injured by the neighbor’s boxer, and was transported to an animal hospital after police broke up the dogs. Mission Valley Rider Killed in Bicycle Accident

A recent bicycle accident in Mission Valley claimed the life of a cyclist. The man had been riding in the 8800 block of Friars Road around 8:30pm when he was struck and killed by a BMW. According to police, the cyclist and the driver of the BMW were going down Friars Road in the same direction when the cyclist attempted to change lanes diagonally and crossed into the car’s path.
