An investigation launched on October 10 to determine the cause of multiple accidents on a highway in Chula Vista, according to 10News.com in San Diego. At least one person died, according to authorities. One accident occurred after a motorcycle read-ended a car that was changing lanes on Interstate 805 on October 9, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The motorcyclist, 24-year-old Jeancarlo Seville, was thrown from the bike and was pronounced dead at the scene. The motorcycle accident caused a chain reaction resulting in two other accidents, one of which also involved a motorcyclist, who suffered major injuries. The third crash involved a family who had a baby and a dog in the car; there were no reported major injuries.
