Boy Saves Mother From Vicious Dog Attack

A young boy in Colton saved his mother from a dog attack, according to 10 KTVLCBS News. The 11-year-old Southern California boy used his skateboard to battle off vicious dogs as they attacked his mother. The victim was taken to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center for bites on her chest and leg. The dogs were quarantined at the San Bernardino animal shelter. Police did not release the names of the owners, but they indicated that they were cited before for having a vicious dog. “We’re looking at some additional charges,” said Colton Police Officer Todd Smith. The victim was lucky her son showed such bravery, but if she were alone, the ending of this story could be very different. Victim’s Family Seeks To Ban ‘Wolf Dogs’ In Tennessee

The relatives of a 5-year-old boy who died after a dog attack are seeking to ban wolf-dog hybrids from the state of Tennessee, according to Examiner.com. Young Kyle Holland moved with his mom and her boyfriend to Michigan from Tennessee. The family was in their new home for only 10 days before the dog attacked Kyle. Kyle died after the animal dragged him out of his bed in the middle of the night and mauled him in the hallway. The breed is illegal in Michigan, but not in Tennessee, where the family moved from. The mother and her boyfriend were arrested been charged with the boy’s death. Now one of Kyle’s cousins is petitioning the state of Tennessee to ban these wolf hybrids. Dog Bites In San Diego Continue To Increase

Injuries resulting from a dog bite seem to be on the rise in San Diego, according to U.S. Politics Today, citing a study in the area. The San Diego County Department of Animal Services reported a 10 percent increase in dog bites since last year. According to The San Diego Union-Tribune, the Department of Animal Services received nearly 2,700 reports of dog attacks last year—which is an average of seven bites per day. The number of incidents increased for the fourth year in a row.
