Pillar in California Cycling Community Killed in Trolley Accident

Troy D. Angwin, 40, died in a pedestrian accident in San Diego on June 7, according to sources. Angwin was known as a knowledgeable bicycle enthusiast in the Southern California community and served as the custom apparel specialist in the western United States for Champion System, a custom bicycle clothing design company.

According to reports, Angwin was struck by a trolley when he was walking. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

“Troy will be missed by all of us at Champion System as well as by his many professional associates and friends,” read a statement released by Champion System. “His accomplishments, good natured personality and passion for sports will not be forgotten. Troy played a critical role in the formation of our first Champion System Experience Center in Santa Monica, California. His vision of offering unparalleled customer service will live on in the Champion System Experience Center as we will continue to support Troy’s passion. Our deepest condolences go to this family and all those fortunate enough to have called him a friend.”
