San Diego Accident Lawyer Thankful No Serious Injuries in Skate Park Accident

A van ran off the road in San Diego on the early morning of January 15 and propelled over a wall and into Robb Field Skate Park in Ocean Beach,  according to NBC San Diego. The driver, identified as a 62-year-old male, lost control of the van on Interstate 8 and launched over several fences and a protective jersey wall. The van finally came to a rest in one of the park’s basins. Fortunately, the accident occurred in the early morning hours and no one was injured other than the driver, who was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

“Most of the time the jersey wall prevents [accidents], however, there are those freak accidents when a car can climb the jersey wall and it turned into essentially a ramp that launched it over those two fences,” said San Diego Police Lieutenant David Rohowits.

The accident remains under investigation and no cause for the accident has been disclosed to the media. It is fortunate this accident did not occur at a time when people were skating in the park. City officials may want to take some protective measures to ensure an accident like this cannot occur again.
