San Diego Cyclist Breaks Back After Being Hit By Car

An 18-year-old bicyclist sustained serious injuries when he was hit by a car July 8 incar and cyclist accident Linda Vista, San Diego. The accident occurred around 4:50 p.m. on Linda Vista Road near Ulric Street. The male teen was transported to the Intensive Care Unit at Sharp Memorial Hospital, where he was treated for and a broken lower back.

The father said his son was in much pain and will be wearing a back brace, but he expects him to make a full recovery.

The driver of the vehicle said she did not see the cyclist riding in the crosswalk. No charges have been filed, and the investigation is ongoing, according to San Diego police.
