San Diego Woman Injured in Truck Accident

A truck accident in San Diego on August 24 has left one woman with minor injuries, according to SignOnSanDiego.com.  The accident occurred shortly after 7 a.m. on Interstate 805 at Sweetwater Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The accident left the woman’s car wedged underneath an 18-wheeler.  According to the truck driver, he was in the right lane when the other car “came from out of nowhere” and became lodged at a 90-degree angle.

The woman was freed from the car by National City Firefighters and taken to a nearby hospital.  Traffic was closed off to clean up the wreckage.

This woman is certainly lucky to have lived through this accident.  Both truckers and other drivers are responsible for sharing the roadway and driving defensively.  I hope that this near miss serves as a reminder of what can happen when you are not alert behind the wheel.
