California Man Killed In Truck Accident

79-year-old Irvine Towne of California died in a truck accident in Oregon on October 31, according to OregonLive.com. Oregon State Police Officer Patrick Trippett said the accident occurred shortly before 7 p.m. when Towne’s station wagon attempted to pass a truck towing two trailers transporting hay. Towne crashed into the side of the trailers and lost control of his car. Emergency workers rushed Towne to Sky Lakes Medical Center, but he died on the way to the hospital. 22-year-old truck driver Trevor Alves did not sustain injury. Even when truck drivers are being cautious and following all the laws of the road, they can still pose a greater risk to other motorists in smaller vehicles. Always be cautious when driving around semi-trucks. Remember, they may not see you. Pedestrian In Wheelchair Struck By Car

A wheelchair-bound pedestrian went to the hospital in the Bay Area on October 28 after a tragic car accident. The victim, who was in a wheelchair, suffered life-threatening injuries, according to the San Francisco Appeal.   A truck hit the victim in San Francisco’s South of Market neighborhood.  The victim was crossing a street at a crosswalk with a green light but did not  make it all the way across before the signal changed.  Three other cars on the street stopped for the victim, but unfortunately, a fourth did not. The driver stopped at the scene and cooperated with police, according to Officer Albie Esparza. “Motorists are reminded when pedestrians are crossing the street lawfully and the light does turn colors, traffic shall yield to the pedestrian to allow them to safely continue crossing the street before they proceed,” says Esparza. Shouldn’t the motorists always yield to pedestrians to avoid serious…

Man Arrested After Fatal Motorcycle Accident

51-year-old George Lopez Jr., a member of the  Hell’s Angels motorcycle club, died in a motorcycle accident in October, according to the San Francisco Examiner.  He collided with a motorist on October 22.  The motorist, 31-year-old Eddie Hall of Oakland, was arrested on suspicion of felony hit-and-run and first-degree murder. Alameda County District Attorney spokeswoman clarified that Hall is in custody, but they did not charge him.  California Highway Patrol Sgt. Trent Cross says he suspects there was an altercation between Lopez and Hall before the accident.  If that is the case, it may not have been an accident after all.  Lopez was struck by a van and dragged underneath for several miles before the van pulled off the highway.  Hall attempted to flee police after pulling over.  Lopez was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital. It may turn out that this accident has more to do with premeditated murder…
