Good Samaritan Saves Driver Following Truck Accident

Officials closed down Highway 99 in Manteca, California after a truck accident, according to News 10 ABC. According to the California Highway Patrol, the semi truck lost control, struck a car and slammed into overpass pillars on December 27. The accident occurred shortly before 10 a.m.

The cab of the truck detached and landed 45 feet away from the trailer. Sandra Gardere, a 34-year-old medical assistant who witnessed the accident, ran into the flaming wreckage to rescue the driver, who survived the accident.

“I don’t even know how that guy lived,” said witness Pat Ochoa.

“He was in shock, I’m sure he had a severe concussion,” Gardere said. The brave woman saved the driver’s life. She visited him in the hospital in Modesto he was flown to as well.
