Last February, two young girls were walking together down the sidewalk. They stopped at an intersection, and pressed the pedestrian button so they could walk across the street. While they waited for the light to change, something terrible happened. A Toyota Corolla drove up onto the sidewalk and struck both the girls, and then drove away. A Young Victim’s Testimony One of the victims, at only 12 years old, took the stand recently to tell a judge about her experience. She said that she and her friend, who was just 10, were on their way to a nearby McDonald’s when the hit and run accident occurred. She says she only remembers bits and pieces of the car accident, including the lights of ambulance, and the family that found her lying on the sidewalk. Are Hit and Run Bicycle Accidents on the Rise?

Three different fatal bike accidents occurred within 24 hours in San Francisco, leaving many frightened that they may be on the rise. Two of the three crashes were reportedly hit and run bicycle accidents. How Did the Bicycle Accidents Happen? Police have released a mug shot of the man they think was driving in the first of the fatal accidents. After hitting the cyclist, a witness reportedly followed the hit and run driver until he exited his car. That’s when the witness detained him until police could arrive. The driver in the second accident has not yet been found. According to witnesses, the driver was trying to pass slower moving traffic when he or she struck the cyclist head-on. San Diego Police Find Suspected Hit-and-Run Driver Following Anonymous Tip

An anonymous tip last week led San Diego police to a damaged car suspected of being involved in a recent hit-and-run accident. Around 8 in the morning on the 17th of September, a bicyclist was riding behind her husband when a vehicle came up from behind and struck her. The 55-year-old woman had been riding on Clairemont Drive, a regular route for her and her husband. The woman suffered a severe leg injury that doctors say will take more than two years to recover from. The car that hit her, which she and her husband described as a blue compact car, did not stop after the accident. A side mirror was found at the scene.
