A contingency fee means that if we obtain money for you, either via settlement or verdict, we deduct attorney fees and legal costs from the recovery and give you the rest. The percentage may vary depending on the risk involved in the case, which will be part of the contract. If we fail to reach a settlement or verdict in your favor, you do not owe us anything.

San Diego Personal Injury Attorney Applauds UCSD Earthquake Tests

Posted on March 25, 2013 by bonnicilawgroup

Researchers tested the structural strength of buildings at the University of California-San Diego to determine how safe they are in the event of a major earthquake, according to KPBS-TV. In 2012, experts built a five-story building model on top of an earthquake simulator and administered a “shake table” experiment that simulated the conditions of different scales of earthquakes to study the safety of the building. “Everything is full-sized,” graduate student Michelle Chen said after the 2012 test. “It’s the same sized columns you would see in a normal sized building. It’s basically the core of a whole structure.” Researchers repeated the experiment this year and found that fire is one of the most serious threats to the building in the event of an earthquake. The scientists started a fire inside of the building after simulating an earthquake and discovered it spread rapidly through the cracked infrastructure and greatly destabilized the…

Safety First for Trick-or-Treaters this Halloween

Posted on October 5, 2012 by bonnicilawgroup

As October begins, you can bet that young children and families across the country are anticipating Halloween, and the fun activities and trick-or-treating that come with it. Trick-or-treating is fun for many families and even for those without children, as it gives them a chance to mingle and interact with neighboring families. But dozens of youngsters approaching your door in the dark can present some unanticipated problems. Here are some tips for Halloween—if you plan to pass out candy—to ensure everyone has a fun and safe night: Make sure your property is well lit. This way trick-or-treaters and parents can easily see walkways and any potential hazards. Clean up your yard. Remove any rakes from the lawn, skateboards in the driveway, make sure pets are secure, etc. Check out the candy before you pass it out. Make sure the goodies are intact in the original packaging and nothing appears out…

Woman Slips in Shower, Falls Out Second Story Window

Posted on August 31, 2012 by bonnicilawgroup

A woman in San Diego in August had quite the slip and fall incident in her shower, according to Fox News. The unidentified woman was only identified as being in her 50’s. She was showering in her second story apartment when she lost her footing and slipped out of the shower, went through the open bathroom window and landed at the bottom of a 15-foot shaft. All apartments in the building have a 2-by-3 foot window in the bathroom. “It was an odd or freakish type of accident,” said San Diego Fire-Rescue Department Battalion Chief David Conner to U-T San Diego reporters. Rescuers were able to rescue the woman from the shaft, which was reportedly six to eight feet below ground level. The woman was taken to the hospital with unspecified injuries. “The fire department was looking to see how they could get in there,” said eyewitness John Taylor. “They…

      What our clients are saying

“I had a great experience. I was out from work on disability for almost a year after my accident. The process of battling the insurance companies would have been so overwhelming for me with doctor’s appointments and therapy. Josh streamlined the process and made everything so easy. I don’t think I could have handled this on my own.”
