      Pillar in California Cycling Community Killed in Trolley Accident

      Troy D. Angwin, 40, died in a pedestrian accident in San Diego on June 7, according to sources. Angwin was known as a knowledgeable bicycle enthusiast in the Southern California community and served as the custom apparel specialist in the western United States for Champion System, a custom bicycle clothing design company. According to reports, Angwin was struck by a trolley when he was walking. He was pronounced dead at the scene. “Troy will be missed by all of us at Champion System as well as by his many professional associates and friends,” read a statement released by Champion System. “His accomplishments, good natured personality and passion for sports will not be forgotten.       Young Boy Killed in San Diego Dog Attack

      An 8-month-old boy died in San Diego following a dog attack on June 14, according to MSNBC News. According to the San Diego Sheriff’s Department, it is possible that up to three dogs were involved in the attack. The young toddler was attacked around 5 pm on West Street, east of downtown San Diego. Lt. Larry Nesbit told reporters from The San Diego Union Tribune that officers responded to the scene within four minutes of the attack, and the boy was rushed to Rady’s Children Hospital, where he was pronounced dead from injuries sustained in the mauling. Three put bulls were taken into custody by Animal Control officers, according to NBCSanDiego.com. “They were aggressive,” Nesbit said. “They were restrained by animal control officers with the tools they have.” It is not clear whether the boy’s family owned the dogs or where the attack occurred, although neighbors did tell reporters that…

      US Commerce Secretary Investigated for Possible Hit-and-Run

      US Commerce Secretary John Bryson was treated in a Los Angeles County hospital following a car accident after he suffered a seizure, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. Bryson, 68, allegedly drove his vehicle into two other cars in separate accidents. Bryson was released from the hospital after spending the night under observation for the seizure; police are investigating him for a hit and run. According to reports, Bryson rear-ended a car that was waiting at a red light in San Gabriel on June 9. Occupants in the vehicle that he struck said Bryson “appeared disoriented,” and then struck the vehicle again as he left the scene. Bryson then allegedly struck another vehicle five minutes later. Bryson was discovered unconscious behind the wheel of his vehicle. Until an investigation is complete, it is difficult to say whether Bryson had criminal intent when he left the scene of the first accident….
