Police Were Surprised at What DIDN’T Cause This Pedestrian Accident

A woman was recently hospitalized with severe injuries after being struck by a car. The pedestrian accident occurred around 10 p.m. in a poorly lit area near Plaza Bonita Mall in National City. When it comes to pedestrian accidents, many would think that drugs, alcohol or speeding would be involved. However, perhaps somewhat of a surprise is that police suspect none of those were factors. Investigators attribute the accident primarily to “wrong place, wrong time.” The stretch of road where the woman was hit comes at the end of a curve with dim lighting and a speed increase from 35 mph to 45 mph. Are Hit and Run Bicycle Accidents on the Rise?

Three different fatal bike accidents occurred within 24 hours in San Francisco, leaving many frightened that they may be on the rise. Two of the three crashes were reportedly hit and run bicycle accidents. How Did the Bicycle Accidents Happen? Police have released a mug shot of the man they think was driving in the first of the fatal accidents. After hitting the cyclist, a witness reportedly followed the hit and run driver until he exited his car. That’s when the witness detained him until police could arrive. The driver in the second accident has not yet been found. According to witnesses, the driver was trying to pass slower moving traffic when he or she struck the cyclist head-on.
