Pedestrian Killed in Del Cerro Car Accident

A pedestrian died after being struck by a car at a Del Cerro intersection, according to ABC 10 News in San Diego. The accident happened on October 11 at around 3:40 p.m. NBC 7 in San Diego is reporting that the victim was a 65-year-old woman, and the driver was a 25-year-old female. The fatal collision occurred at the intersection of Navajo Road and Margerum Avenue. The victim was crossing the street when the 25-year-old, who is being investigated for distracted driving, hit her with her car. “The pedestrian, according to numerous witnesses, stopped in the middle of the intersection when the driver was approaching her and put her arm up,” SDPD Sgt. Art Doherty told NBC 7. While the initial collision may have been enough to kill the victim, the aftermath was particularly brutal. Speeding Led to Sweetwater Trustee’s Chula Vista Car Wreck

The investigation into a July car accident that nearly killed Sweetwater trustee John McCann has uncovered that the other driver’s speeding caused the wreck. According to NBC 7 in San Diego, during the course of the investigation by Chula Vista Police, it was discovered that the vehicle that caused the accident was traveling 87 mph in a 45 mph zone. “It potentially could have winded up in a fatality if he had been driving any faster,” said McCann. As it was, McCann, 45, was transported to UCSD Medical Center after the accident with a head injury. The other driver, 50, was taken to Scripps Hospital with a small cut to his right forearm and back and knee pain. Chula Vista Bus Accident Leaves 21 Injured

ABC 10 in San Diego is reporting that an early morning bus accident involving a SUV in Chula Vista left 21 people injured, including the driver of the SUV. The accident took place on September 30 at 7:21 a.m. near the intersection of East H Street and Paseo Del Rey. The Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) bus was parked at a bus stop when a woman driving a Ford Explorer rear-ended it, according to U-T San Diego. “She was accelerating, she had just made a turn onto East H, it’s a 55 mph road, so I’m assuming she was accelerating, she was probably accelerating when she hit the bus,” said Chula Vista Police Sgt.
