Drivers Amazingly Escape Car Accident With Minor Injuries

Two drivers were injured in a car accident in Duarte, California on September 14, according to The San Gabriel Valley Tribune. According to officials, one car drove off a freeway on-ramp and landed on top of another vehicle. The crash occurred early in the morning on the 210 freeway just west of Mount Olive. The driver of a 1998 Toyota Camry—described as a 23-year-old male—lost control and ran off the ramp and fell 15 to 20 feet onto the top of a 2007 Toyota Camry, driven by a 57-year-old man. Amazingly, both of these drivers avoided major injury in this case. Investigators are still looking into the cause of the accident. Bonnici Law Group—San Diego personal injury attorney.

Body Of Man Discovered Weeks After Boating Accident

Police recovered the body of 26-year-old Terrell Blake-Lopez on September 8 from the Colorado River.  Blake-Lopez was killed in a boating accident over Labor Day Weekend, according to SignOnSanDiego.com. Blake-Lopez was thrown off his pleasure boat after hitting a rock in a river just south of Jack Smith Park in Needles.  His friend on board the boat attempted to rescue him, but he was not wearing a life jacket and they were not able to.  A two-day search ensued to no avail, and then an angler discovered the body floating down the river. This unnecessary tragedy resulted in the loss of a young life.  Investigators are still looking into the accident, but had the young man been wearing a life vest, he may very well have been rescued. Initially the states were seeing a decrease in the number of fatalities of teenagers involved in a car accident.  They initially decreased in the mid 90’s by as much as 30% in some states, according to The New York Times.  However, if you take a step back, the stats can be a little misleading. “Most of the prior studies on graduated driver licensing have only looked at 16-year-olds,” said Scott Masten of the California Department of Motor Vehicles, the lead author on the study.  “When…
