Officer Strikes Pedestrian With Police Cruiser

According to The San Jose Mercury, a 25-year-old man was injured in a pedestrian accident on September 12. The car accident occurred in Los Gatos. A police officer was responding to a call and struck a pedestrian en route, sending him to the hospital with major injuries. The officer who was driving was Leo Coddingham, but officials do not believe he was doing anything wrong and describe the incident as an accident. “There is no indication that the officer did anything wrong,” says Police Sgt. Kerry Harris. “This is an outstanding officer with a clean driving record. This appears to be an accident.” The California Highway Patrol is still investigating the accident. The man who was struck was the same person the officer was responding too, but was not lying in the street as originally reported, but was walking. It is the responsibility of both motorists and pedestrians to share the roadway. Reese Witherspoon Injured In California Pedestrian Accident

According to multiple sources, actress Reese Witherspoon was hit by a car on September 8 as she was jogging in Santa Monica. She reportedly suffered minor injuries in the car accident. The driver of the Toyota that struck the starlet was identified as an 84-year-old female Santa Monica resident. “Ms. Witherspoon was within a portion of the intersection considered a crosswalk. This is a residential neighborhood and most crosswalks are not marked like business districts,” Santa Monica Police Sgt. Richard Lewis told Inside Line. “The weather conditions were sunny and clear.” Witherspoon was treated for minor injuries at a nearby hospital. No charges have been filed at this time.
