Mom and Three Kids Injured When Minivan and Bus Collide

An October 14 accident between a minivan and a bus left a mother and her three children seriously injured, according to NBC 7 in San Diego. The accident happened at about 9:30 a.m. in Chula Vista, California at the intersection of East Palomar Street and La Media Road. Fox 5 in San Diego reported that the impact of the crash caused the Mazda MPV minivan to rollover. The rollover ended with the van off the roadway on its side. Inside the van was a mother and her three children—ages 1, 4 and 11. They had to be removed from the van by the dozen or so first responders who had rushed to the accident site. Pedestrian Killed in Del Cerro Car Accident

A pedestrian died after being struck by a car at a Del Cerro intersection, according to ABC 10 News in San Diego. The accident happened on October 11 at around 3:40 p.m. NBC 7 in San Diego is reporting that the victim was a 65-year-old woman, and the driver was a 25-year-old female. The fatal collision occurred at the intersection of Navajo Road and Margerum Avenue. The victim was crossing the street when the 25-year-old, who is being investigated for distracted driving, hit her with her car. “The pedestrian, according to numerous witnesses, stopped in the middle of the intersection when the driver was approaching her and put her arm up,” SDPD Sgt. Speeding Led to Sweetwater Trustee’s Chula Vista Car Wreck

The investigation into a July car accident that nearly killed Sweetwater trustee John McCann has uncovered that the other driver’s speeding caused the wreck. According to NBC 7 in San Diego, during the course of the investigation by Chula Vista Police, it was discovered that the vehicle that caused the accident was traveling 87 mph in a 45 mph zone. “It potentially could have winded up in a fatality if he had been driving any faster,” said McCann. As it was, McCann, 45, was transported to UCSD Medical Center after the accident with a head injury. The other driver, 50, was taken to Scripps Hospital with a small cut to his right forearm and back and knee pain.
