Two teenage boys were involved in an ATV accident in Covelo, California, on January 20, according to WillitsNews.com. A 14-year-old boy was driving a 2001 Honda ATV and an 11-year-old boy was riding on the back when the driver lost control and it tipped over. The passenger was flown to the hospital and treated for minor injuries, and the driver was uninjured. Both boys were wearing helmets. “Riders should always wear helmets,” said California Highway Patrol (CHP) Officer Jared Zucker. “In this case they did, and that was a very significant factor.” Parents should always supervise their children on ATVs and sign them up for safety classes.
